About Me
I am a sophomore in the Computer Science and Engineering program at the University of Michigan. I am in the process of finding a meaningful internship or experience for the summer. In my free time I do freelance web development, create pottery, and spend time with my girlfriend, Lauren.

Aspirations
After college I would like to have the opportunity to be an innovator and create software and services that push next-generation technology. Otherwise I will seek higher education either in Computer Science or in Medicine. I also want to continue ceramics and volunteer work where I can.
Projects
Web App: mParty
My friend Miguel and I came up for the idea for this app, at a hackathon in the Fall of 2011. It allows a user to see parties and events added by other users on campus. Currently we are working on a native iOS version and more advanced privacy and user settings on the backend. It should be ready for launch in mid 2012, currently it is in a closed beta.
- mParty won "Best Mobile App" at Hacka2thon 2011.
Web Design: NavyBeats.com
I redid my brother's website allowing his users to listen to mixes from 8tracks radio while they browse his site and other playlists. My brother and his friends (Navy Beats) now manage the site's content. Have a listen to their mixes!
Web Design: Mobile Manufactory
This project is sponsored by MSuite, a group of Mobile Developers at University of Michigan directed by Prof. Ringenberg. MMM is intended to help people with ideas reach developers within the University community.

Web Design: Green Dream Clo. Co.
Built with the store backend I designed for Harvest Cafe. I set up a site for my friend Adam so he can easily add new clothing products to sell on his site.
Web Design: Harvest CafÉ Coffee and Tea
This project was launched at the beginning of September. It replaced a decrepit outdated store with a new one that is easier to use and better represents the look of Harvest Café, a local coffee roaster in Indianapolis.
Web Design: Tulip Noir
I recently designed a backend to revamp the Tulip Noir site (which I have been working on since 2008), it allows the owner to update the specials everyday and upload photos and other content with ease. Over 1,000 people use this site weekly.
Engineering: Phys-Gun Prototype
The goal of this project was to create a toy based on a microprocessor with a group of three other engineers. Our toy was built as a prototype of a final version intended to help children understand projectile motion and basic Newtonian Physics. Josh Billingham and I worked closely to integrate two servos in with a custom microprocessor in order to control the device. Also a user interface, video driver, font library, memory console, parabola graphing console, and mathematics engine were all designed in assembly language in order to complete the prototype. I learned the skills necessary to produce top quality sites and design work slowly over the past few years. Now I am doing a few larger sites to pay for college. Check out my work in the projects tab.
Waiter
Tulip Noir CafÉ
Indianapolis,IN
Tulip Noir is a local organic and natural family restaurant that prides itself in good food and a friendly atmosphere. My mother is the owner, and she is there every day baking scones and making soup for her customers. I own a portion of the restaurant and I wait tables when I am around Indy.
Research
Andrei Molosh
Stark Neuroscience Center - IUPUI
Indianapolis,IN
Andrei taught me the basics of Patch Clamp and allowed me to kill and dissect a rat myself. Andrei's project focused on using advanced equipment to record action potentials of live neurons and comparing how they change with various drugs. I learned a lot about neurons, how to work in a wet lab, and how to handle animals to be used for scientific research.
Jon Hobbs
Stark Neuroscience Center - IUPUI
Indianapolis,IN
Jon Hobbs is doing research that focuses on how multitudes of epileptic neurons communicate. He is using the IU supercomputer to apply mathematical models to the data he collects from live human cells removed from epileptic patients. I shadowed him for a day and sat in on the neurosurgery where the cells were collected. I also saw how Jon gets data from the cells. Currently I am working towards being able to help Jon with the mathematical modeling.
Shadowing
Dr. Chris Leagre
Radiological Oncologist
Indianapolis,IN
I shadowed Dr. Leagre for a day and he explained the process of treating tumors with advanced radiation emitting machinery. He showed me the software and devices he uses to treat tumors. I also saw how he interacts with recovering patients.
Dr. Rafat Abonour
Medical Oncologist
Indianapolis,IN
I shadowed Dr. Abonour for a day. My experience with him helped me understand how doctors interact with patients who are dying of rare blood cancers. Dr. Abonour specializes in treatment of Multiple Myeloma. It was interesting to see the importance of a friendly bedside manor, like Dr. Abonour's.
Dr. Rick Sasso
Spine Surgeon
Indianapolis,IN
I shadowed Dr. Sasso during 8 spine surgeries of various complexities. I gained a meaningful understanding of how doctors interact with patients and perform complicated operations.
Education
University Of Michigan
Ann Arbor, MI
I hope to graduate from Michigan with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and go on to Medical School. So far I have enjoyed Organic Chemistry, Accelerated Programming, and Microprocesser-Based Toy Design. In the future I look forward to getting involved in biomedical research projects.

In high school I was involved in all AP classes. I spent a lot of time throwing clay on the wheel, developing b&w photos, and organizing a concert called Rockin' 4 Riley to help raise money for Riley Hospital. I also restored an '87 BMW 325 with my brother and waited tables on the weekends.
